Celebrating Lots of Things

It's celebration time again--and I am two days late! For good reason, though. I'm celebrating several things this week.

Celebrate the Small Things  is a blog hop co-hosted by Lexa Cain at: Lexa Cain,  L.G. Keltner @ Writing Off The Edge , and Tonja Drecker @ Tidbits Blog. (You can go to any of these sites to add your name to the links, if you want to participate. I recommend it, because it's always fun to see positive news that others are celebrating, and to share your own as well. )

What am I celebrating?

First, Goodreads is having a book giveaway for Beyond Watson from August 26th to September 3rd, 2016. So jump in and win your copy
HERE: I'll be updating with my thumbnail reviews of four more stories in a couple of days.

Second, I finished one of those two big projects I mentioned a few posts ago: The finished project was a rewrite of a cozy mystery that I'm going to be pitching to a couple of agents at a workshop in a week and a half.

(The second project--a mystery project until I finish--will tie me up for all of September, but when I finish, you can bet I'll be celebrating here!)

Third, my copy of Mark Noce's Between Two Fires came yesterday. Yay! I was getting a little concerned, because he's signing books in Sacramento this coming Saturday, and I want to him to sign my copy. So I'm celebrating his signing as well.

And Fourth -- a bit more personal -- my god brother had heart surgery a couple of weeks ago and came through it like a champ! He's doing great. So happy for this very special person and his very special wife!

How about you? I hope good things are happening in your life and that you are having a week of celebrating the small and large things that make life so meaningful. Have a great week.

What excellent things to celebrate. I'm so glad your god-brother is doing well. It's really nice you got Mark's book, and it'll be great if you get to see him and get it signed! Good luck with your cozy pitch and with the mystery project! :)

Hi, Lexa. Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for all the good wishes. I'm excited at the prospect of pitching. A little nervous, too, to be honest.

Such fantastic news! Good luck with your cozy pitch, and enjoy Mark's book. It's awesome! :)

Thanks, Christine. I agree. I enjoyed Mark's book and am looking forward to meeting him in person at the book signing. Have a great week.

Thanks so much for popping by our blog to say hi. I'm looking forward to following along with you, especially given the fact that you write mysteries, something I'm trying to do just now. Cheers - Ellen

Hi, Ellen. It's a really fun genre to write. (Well a cozy is, anyway, I don't know about gory crime novels.) I looked for a way to follow you on your blog but couldn't find one. Keep me posted. I'll be checking in at your blog.

Thanks, Rosi. And thanks for all your support of projects I've worked on through the years.

Encouraging, in fact downright jubilant, post --a bright spot in the blogosphere. Best of all, your godbrother pulled through heart surgery. I had mine 10 years ago and woke up surprised I woke up. My chest still looks like I flunked a machete juggling class but I was back to work in 2 months. I know who superheroes are now, heart surgeons.

Hi, Geo. Yes, we have two nephews who are doctors, and we've watched them take the long, hard road. So much schooling. It seems forever. Then internship. By the time they are doctors, they sure know what they are doing. I am grateful for my opthamologist who did my eye surgery. I've very glad your own heart surgery went well and that you are having a good life.

You are in a celebrating mood! All great things to be happy about, for sure. I met Mark last week in Burlingame. I looked for you and then remembered you'd said Sacramento. Duh! I'm never the sharpest after I launch a book. And speaking of that, you asked for a copy of Sign of the Green Dragon over at Literary Rambles. I'd love to send you an eBook. Let me know your email: cleemckenzieATgmailDOTcom

That is great news about the surgery. Such things always make people nervous beforehand. I've been seeing Mark's book all over the blogoverse. I'll have to check it out.

Just got back from a trip. The ebook came. Thank you so much. Have a great coming week-end.

Yes, I was a little nervous ahead of time, for sure. But all went well, and I'm finishing up the last two weeks of medical drops for the healing.

I'm so happy for Marc. I just started reading his ebook.

Hi, Theresa, Yes, I am, too. I've been blog friends with him for years, and it's so exciting to see someone you know personally succeed. He's really such a nice person, and the book is a great read.

Glad the surgery went well - but what is a 'god brother'?

Hi, Julia. Re: "god-brother," that's what I call my godmother's son. :-)
