I'm celebrating a marvelous site provided by SCBWI (Society of Book Writers & Illustrators) until end of November. It's called Book Stop, and this is a perfect place to Christmas shop for young readers. There's an embarrassment of riches in store for you!
But first, Celebrate the Small Things is a blog hop co-hosted by Lexa Cain at: Lexa Cain, L.G. Keltner @ Writing Off The Edge , and Tonja Drecker @ Tidbits Blog. (You can go to any of these sites to add your name to the links, if you want to participate. )
Okay, the link to SCBWI Book Stop: You can look up books published by traditional publishers or independent publishers. It's up to you. You can go directly to their site HERE
My own page for Dragonella is among the pages for independent publishers (Belanger Books. Check them out HERE, they are currently open for submissions.)
You can go to the link for my book stop page HERE . I hope you will stop by and sign the guest book. Also, I hope you will spread the word among those with children or grandchildren the appropriate ages (5-8).
Here are the front and back covers. (I lucked out with a wonderful illustrator, Brian Belanger!)
I have such fond memories of my own childhood Halloween ventures. I loved the dress-up part of it more than collecting candy. What are some of your best Halloween memories?

What a great looking cover! I loved trick-or-treating when I was a kid, especially counting up all of my loot at the end.
I love the cover of your book. It's adorable.
Happy Halloween!
Thanks, "Sailor". I'm glad you like the cover. All of the pictures inside are like that. Brian Belanger is a wonderful illustrator. Yes, I loved Trick-or-Treating.so much. It's interesting how even older kids today like to get into that.
Thanks, Cathrina. Purple is my favorite color, and I like how the illustrator used it front and back and throughout the book). Happy Halloween to you, too. Have a great week-end.
Ah, another book-baby born. Good for you, Mitty. Congrats.
Thanks, Rosi! "Book-baby born." I like that! Have a good Halloween with the grandkids. I know they will be ready to go Trick-or-Treating!
Many, many congrats on your wonderful new book.
Have a spooktacular weekend.
I love what I read on the back of your book, it really sounds interesting, I love dragons, I bought an eastern dragon ring not long ago, which you can see and read about on one of my blog posts, if you so decide to stop by.
I used to love going out trick-or-treating with my best friend in our younger years to see who could get the most candy, which he always got more but, nonetheless, we had great fun!
Anyway . . . I just want to add, it's nice meeting you and your delightful blog Elizabeth, and I hope you'll have a fun Halloween!
Halloween is my favorite holiday and autumn my favorite season.
If you'd like to know more about me, and meet me as well, you're welcome to click on my name in this comment of mine which will take you there. It's always fun meeting new people, even though my wife and I love our solitude.
Congratulations from our house too, Elizabeth! Our Halloween routine has become visits with gifts and goodies to children followed by locking our farmgate and turning off the porch light on the night in question. Have also just posted at "Trainride..." something with Holmes and a current internet problem --one I hope your site hasn't suffered.
I don't understand all the fuss about Halloween. I shall be staying inside, tucked away from all the shenanigans.
Thanks so much, Sandra. We just got home last night in time to hang up our cardboard skeleton (our one decoration for Halloween.) Have a good Halloween and a great week.
Thanks, Lon, nice to meet you, too. I just visited your blog and read your Halloween poem. Really fine poem! It really stirs the emotions.
Hi, Geo. (& Norma), love your Halloween routine. Meanwhile, I did visit your "Trainride . . ." blog and had a good chuckle. A great way to start the day. (We just got back from travels last night.) Have a good spooky evening.
Hi, Julia,
It's interesting how different holidays affect different people. When I was a kid, I just loved Halloween. As an adult, I still think of it as a holiday for kids. But you'd be surprised how much adults get into it as well. They don't go Trick-or-Treating, but you go into the supermarket and the cashier is a giant grape or a witch or some such. It does put a smile on one's face, and I'm all for anything that does that.
I would dress up as a witch and go to tons of houses. Unfortunately, I would eat all my candy over the next several weeks. My kids trade in most of their candy haul for a toy. I got the idea for the "Switch Witch" deal online.
I love your cover. What a cute dragon!
What a cool idea to keep your kids from eating too much candy. I would have a hard time eating it, though. As a kid I loved candy, but somehow now I don't like it much. One piece of chocolate can last me for weeks. I'm glad you like the cover. I think the illustrator, Brian Belanger, did such a marvelous job. He's really great.
