The soon one is tomorrow: My after school art club at the South Natomas Community Center is having their art show in the window of University Art Store, at J and 26th, in Sacramento. These kids are wonderful artists, ages 8 to 13.
The one next month is a book signing I'm having at Time Tested Books, on 21st St. between K and L, in Sacramento. I'll post about it again, closer to the time. But this is for my new book, Imogene and the Case of the Missing Pearls, set in Victorian London and featuring a ten-year-old girl who helps Sherlock Holmes find her mother's missing pearls. (You can learn more about it by pressing on the book cover in the margin.)
This is a fun blog hop, and you can read other neat celebrations at Lexa Cain's blog, sponsored by L.G. Keltner @ Writing Off The Edge and Katie @ TheCyborgMom . Also you can link up to other sites and add your own link. Enjoy. Be sure and visit Lexa's blog. And have a great day!

Both of those are very exciting. I hope you and the kids have a blast at the art show, and I hope you sell a bunch of books at your signing! Share pics of both please! :)
Thanks for the good wishes, Lexa. I'll definitely take pictures of both and post them later. Have a great day.
Hope you and the kids enjoy the art show tomorrow.
I love art shows! Acrylics are my passion, but I long to try pastels. The young arists are so much fun. Enjoy it.
Congratulations on the upcoming book signing!
How exciting! Sounds like you have a lot to plan and do. I'll repeat Lexa - don't forget to take pics.
That all sounds great fun, enjoy yourselves! Best of luck with the book signing, I look forward to hearing all about it!
HI Elizabeth, I decided to join the "Celebrate the ..." meme as well. Your two events sound like great fun! I always loved doing crafty things with kids when I was a librarian. Sometimes I miss that job ...
Have a great week. (http://catherineensley.com)
Thanks, everyone! So nice to hear from you all, and I appreciate the good wishes.
Great celebrations. I have a book signing this Saturday, so will see how that works out.
Hi, Linda, best of luck with your book signing. Hope it all goes well.
Wonderful, a book signing. Yay, Elizabeth! Would love to see pics of the art show...
Have fun at the art show! Those are always fun. I can't wait to hear about your book signing. At some point, I'll have to get up the nerve to do that. Good luck with it!
Lots of things to celebrate! Have a wonderful week.
I always enjoy the art your kids create so I will be sure to stop by the store soon to check it out. I will be at your book signing. Hope you have a great turn out.
Hi, Rosi, thanks for your support of both the art club and the book signing - the book you helped make good!
You must feel like a proud mama with all your art students! :) Hope all went well!
Yes, it was so much fun. We had a little two-hour reception serving punch and cookies from a table outside the display window. Parents and siblings came, grandparents, cousins, friends. And then a lot of them went inside and bought art supplies (which was nice for the store). I took pictures that I will post later.
I love art shows. I hope you will share some pictures.
Hi, Julia, yes, pictures are forthcoming.
Sacramento? I know that book shop! Wish I still lived there. Best of luck on your signing!
Thanks for stopping by, Meradeth. Yes, Time Tested Books is my favorite bookstore. I hang out there often and never leave empty handed. Great store!
Hello Elizabeth. Thanks for popping by my blog and commenting. Pretty exciting news for you! I wish you well for your book signing in Sacramento.
How is your book going that mentions Portugal?
Denise :-)
Hi, Denise, Re: the Portugal book, I finished my draft, then went through it and outlined it marking areas that needed more information and/or changes, and now I'm gathering information for the rewrite, while I run around like a maniac with platform stuff and marketing for the Imogene book. I miss working on it, but am happy for the reason I'm so busy. Hope your own writing is going well.
An art show for creative kids--how wonderful! And I wish I was closer to Sacramento to attend your book signing, but Minnesota is just too far away. congrats on the success you are having.
Best,
Deb
Thanks for the good wishes, Debi. The art reception Saturday was great. And I am excited about the up and coming signing. You are right, though -- Minnesota is a little far to come. :-)
