I hope you all had a good New Year's Eve. We did here in Braga, but a very quiet one, as the storms kept us indoors.
Yes, as I posted on my Fourth Wish Blog, we did it again! We decided to move back to Braga, and we are glad we did. Much as it was great to visit family and friends in California, we found we missed Braga more than we had California. We've been "home" two months and a day, arriving November 6th, and we put the Azevedo house up for sale. Happily, in these difficult times, our real estate agent found a buyer. Selling homes internationally is a complicated procedure, involving notarized signatures and even one apostilled document. But it's finally done.
The good news is that we kept our flat in Braga after all. We had put it up for sale, but then cancelled the sale, once we knew we wanted to come back. And we can almost relax. Almost, because our shipping won't arrive until next month. Oh, will we ever love to see it!
I'll sign off for now, but when we get our books again, and our desks, I'll start doing more book reviews and more posts about Sherlock Holmes, the Victorian Era, etc. I'd also like to explore a bit of history about Braga during the Victorian Era.
For now, I'll wish you Happy New Year. May 2023 be a year of piece and happiness for you all.
PS: For those of you having trouble commenting on my Fourth Wish blog, I am, too! I may have to change to another site if I can't fix the problem. As it stands now, I can post, but I can't reply to comments.

So glad you decided on your forever country and home. I look forward to you receiving your furniture, so you can share you adventures with us again. Happy New Year, Elizabeth.
Hi, Elizabeth (and Bleubeard), yes, we are happy, too, that we decided to return. It really is home, now. Meanwhile, we will feel delirious when the furniture (and books) come. Happy New Year!
Welcome home, again! I'm so glad all went well with the move, no regrets and settling in as much as you can without all your things. Take care and onward! THis is indeed good news and a wonderful way to start the new year.
Boa tarde, (good afternoon), Jeanie,
Yes, all went well. And we got news soon after the move htat our house in Sacramento sold! Since the economy isn't very healthy right now, we had thought we might have to lease it for awhile, which is always a headache: We have never longed to be landlords. The sale is a complicated process, though, internationally, involving notraized signatures and even an apostilled document. But it will be good to get closure. Meanwhile, as you said - no regrets. It's a joy to be here.
Just a note, Elizabeth, that I have been unable to access your new blog site using the link you provided.
Hi, David, I think you finally did when I sent you an updated link. Meanwhile, I love the bird pictures on your blog. Sadly, I can't comment because that Google button doesn't work for me when I try to answer that way. But I'll send comments via email. Have a great day.
