Moving Is . . ..

Been busy! But I'll be posting again soon. Here is my advice, though: Don't move three times in two years.

We do like our new house, it's great to see old friends and neighbors in Sacramento, and we are savoring our last weeks in Portugal — all with friends we love in both places. So I can't complain.

Meanwhile, I'm working on a new book and submitting earlier stuff.  Now . . . if you're a writer, I'd definitely advise doing that while moving three times in two years. It sure beats house work!

See you soon with updates. Maybe even pictures! We are in the midst of a festival that begs to be photographed.

Please update me with your news. I hope all is going well.

One of life's known stressors is moving. Three times in two years would be much. Glad you are both still standing.

Hi, Mirka. "Still standing." I LOVE that comment. We are also doing a lot of sleeping after shuttling back and forth between time zones. I'm finally getting caught up on the sleep. Whew!

Moving is the worst! I'm so glad I don't have to. But it sure will be good to have you back in Sacramento! Enjoy your time in Europe for now.

Thanks, Rosi. We never thought we would move this much in our entire married life! Goes to show: Life is full of surprises. But we're glad to be coming back, even though we will miss Braga so much.

Sending you all good wishes for a relatively easy move. Must be hard across continents -- it's hard enough across town!

Hi, Jeanie. You are so right. We moved across town in our first move and it was almost like moving out of town! The second move went more easily, even though it was to Europe, because we had downsized quite a bit. Now, 15 months later, it still looks like work. I'll be glad when we're done with the move, but at the same time want to enjoy the next few weeks as much as possisble.

I can't begin to imagine leaving friends behind in either city. I sincerely hope your move is easier back to the states. At least you don't have pets that will need to be quarantined. Enjoy the last of your time in Braga.

Thanks, Elizabeth (& Bleubeard), leaving friends really IS the sad part about moving. Luckily we can all keep in touch via the Internet and then Rajan and I will keep coming for visits for as long as we are able. And we are so grateful we've had this experience.

Wow, moving and writing. Busy is probably an understatement.
Take special care.
We're leaving the light on for you.

Aww. Thanks, Sandra, the moving part is more or less finished until our shipping arrives in Sacramento (September 28th in Oakland, and then a few days to get it to Sacramento. Right now we are in Galicia, just north of Portugal, where we rent a small apartment, and we are more or less just relaxing and visiting friends here until August 3rd when we leave for the US. But . . . I am writing. I've started Book Three! :-)

Just a quickie to say thanks for your very lovely and kind comment on my blog and to say I hope the move is going/has gone well. What a big deal that is! Good luck!

Thanks, Jeanie. It actually is going pretty well. We are resting up for three weeks in Galicia before going home and then we will be waiting for our shipping to arrive. But it's all good so far. Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you have a smooth move and all goes well. I'm familiar with Sacramento. I've visited many times, as it's close to where I grew up.

*just wanted to answer your question.....the area I live now is not far from the well known mountain, Mount Shasta. My daughter and her dad climbed it twice. It's a pretty area, with much nature around us. I've always loved the mountains. Thank you for visiting us today. : )

Three moves in two years....you both have more energy than we do:)
Enjoy your Sunday.

Thanks, Sandra. After this, we are finished with moving. We hope to save our remaining energy for just enjoying life. Have a great day and a great month coming up. And Happy Halloween.

Hi, Sheri, thanks for coming back to comment. Yes, we are back in Portugal, now (Braga), and loving it. Of course we'll love it even more when our furniture arrives, lol.

We loved California, too. We've never been valiant enoughh to climb mountains, but we've admired Mount Shasta from afar.

Have a great start to 2023l
